HONOLULU – (Friday, November 16, 2012) — The REEF Hawaiian Pro hits top gear in solid 10-foot surf at Haleiwa today. Given the Surfline.com long term forecast, today will be the day for the first jewel of the $1million Vans Triple Crown of Surfing.

Heat times have been extended to 23 minutes today, pushing the first REEF Clash of the Legends heat to shortly after midday.

A complete round up report with results and links to still imagery and video will be distributed at the end of the day.

In celebration of 30 years of world class surfing, the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing hydrated by vitaminwater offers $1million in prize money this year, including a $100,000 bonus, a Harley Davidson motorcycle, and a $10,000 custom Nixon watch for the overall series champion. Each of the three events of the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing has a two-week holding period within which to run, requiring just 3-4 days of excellent surf to be completed.
