SUNSET BEACH, HI (Nov. 9, 2012) — With two days of its holding period left and two days of competition to complete, the 2012 HIC PRO, presented by VANS, is a definite go for today
and Saturday at Sunset Beach. A new swell of three feet on the point is forecast to build to six feet today and peak tomorrow a little higher. Surfers will hit the water at 8 am (HST) for Heat 12 in the Round of 96.
A local qualifier for the Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, the HIC PRO has attracted an international field of professional surfers. The $95,000 4-star rated Association of Surfing Professionals event is the final event of the ASP-Hawaii Regional Tour and provides valuable points towards surfers’ final 2012 ASP World Rankings.
